COMMITTIES OF THE STATE COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOMI

The State Council of the Republic of Komi establishes committees of the State Council of the Republic of Komi from among the deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Komi. They are bodies of the State Council of the Republic of Komi with the reporting function. The committees exercise the right of legislative initiative.

The committees perform functions on development and preliminary consideration of draft bills and other issues referable to the State Council of the Republic of Komi; exercise control on the Komi Republic laws enforcement and execution; exercise other powers in line with the committees statutes approved by the State Council of the Republic of Komi.

The committees are established at the first session of the newly elected State Council of the Republic of Komi. They function up to the expiration of the term of office of the State Council of the Republic of Komi. Members of the committees and their number are assigned by the State Council of the Republic of Komi. During the term of office the State Council of the Republic of Komi may form new committees, abolish and reorganize the existing ones and change the committee composition.
