Alexey Chernov, Senior Deputy Head of the Republic of Komi, coordinates work of the executive agencies of the Republic of Komi, controls their activities, and authorizes them to deal with the following issues:
1) Implementation of the national priority projects;
2) Realization of the unified state energy and resource saving policy;
3) Realization of the unified state energy policy;
4) Realization of the unified state policies for conservation, restoration and utilization of natural resources and subsurface management in the Republic of Komi;
5) Realization of the unified state policy for environmental protection and safety in the Republic of Komi;
6) Realization of the unified state policy for forestry affairs in the Republic of Komi;
7) Realization of the unified state policy for water affairs in the Republic of Komi;
8) Realization of the unified state policy for the state environmental expertise in the Republic of Komi;
9) Interactions with local authorities;
10) Development and implementation of the state national relations policy;
11) Information policy and development and implementation of mass media state support measures;
12) Interactions with political parties, labour unions and other non-governmental organizations and associations;
13) Interactions between the Government of the Republic of Komi and religious institutions;
14) Implementation of the state civil registration policy in the Republic of Komi
15) Realization of the international cooperation in accordance with the competence of regional executive agencies in the Russian Federation.

According to the Division of Responsibilities between the Senior Deputy Head of the Republic of Komi and deputy heads of the Republic of Komi approved by Order of the Head of the Republic of Komi No. 85-p as of February 17, 2011, the following issue consideration procedure exists:
Issues under the jurisdiction of the Senior Deputy Head of the Republic of Komi Alexey Chernov will be considered by the Deputy Head of the Republic of Komi Alexander Burov. In the absence of Alexander Burov, the Deputy Head of the Republic of Komi and Minister of Finance of the Republic of Komi Vladimir Tukmakov will accept the responsibility.
